Warrant Group scoops innovation award at 2017 Mersey Maritime Industry Awards

Warrant Group has scooped a top accolade for the second year in a row at the Mersey Maritime Industry Awards.

Managing Director Ian Jones was called to the podium to collect the Innovation Award from guest host, BBC Breakfast Presenter Louise Minchin, at a glittering black tie celebration.

Judges said Warrant Group was the clear winner for the award thanks to its pioneering work with retailer B&M Bargains and its technology platform, the Ingot Portal.

Mersey Maritime is the representative body for the maritime sector and related industry sectors operating across the UK's Liverpool City Region, bringing together over 1,250 businesses.

Last year Warrant Group took home the Freight & Logistics Award at the Mersey Maritime Awards.

"We're over the moon here at Warrant Group to have won once again at the Mersey Maritime Awards.

"It's wonderful to be recognised for our innovative approach and to be singled out from among so many great businesses. We entered the award based on our work with B&M Bargains which is focused on creating visibility across supply chains and multiple service providers."

Chris Shirling-Rooke, Chief Executive of Mersey Maritime, said: "Our third event has exceeded all expectations. Each year we have built on the success of the previous year and this year's event was no different.

"We heard about some of the truly excellent businesses based here in the North West and this event is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the sheer diversity of their expertise and achievements.

"Our key message for 2017 is 'Liverpool is Back' and we certainly proved that on Thursday evening. We were also very honoured to hold the event at Liverpool Football Club, which provided a stunning backdrop for our maritime awards"
